Taiwan Lottery has announced that it will be distributing bonus prizes of NT$1.05 billion (approximately US$31.89 million) for the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays.
Taiwan Lottery’s decision to hand out NT$1.05 billion will be a record high for the Lunar New Year lottery. The prize pool will be spread across multiple daily draws over a 20-day period, from January 24 to February 12, Taiwan Lottery President Hsieh Chih-hung (謝志宏) said at a press conference. The lotteries will include the Lotto 6/49, Daily Cash, 39Mark5, 49Mark6, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Bingo Bingo.
One of the most popular games in Taiwan’s lottery lineup, Lotto 6/49, will feature a top prize of NT$100 million. In this game, players are required to choose six numbers from a pool of 49.
Big Red Envelope draw
In addition to the Lotto 6/49, those who pick six out of the nine numbers drawn from the Big Red Envelope stand to win up to NT$1 million each from a total prize pot of NT$480 million, Hsieh said.
Players who match five out of nine numbers in the Lunar New Year’s Big Red Envelope draw and pick the correct number for the Lunar New Year’s Small Red Envelope draw stand to win up to NT$100,000 each from a total prize pot of NT$80 million.
Bingo Bingo is another game that will see increased prize amounts during the Lunar New Year period, the company’s news release said. In this game, players bet on numbers every five minutes.
